Necessary to register wedlock in United states of america?
How-do-you-do everyone,
I got married in Aruba in August and am going through the process of getting my name inverse (banks, SS, commuter's license, etc). Is in that location any advantage or reason to "register" my marriage in the Us? And if then, how would one go near doing this?
Thank you,
Mac

I was married in the Bahamas, and never had to do a sew together of paperwork.
Here in the U.S. it was not until some years later that I chose to take on my hubby's last name.
I was successful in changing my social security card, drivers license besides as passing a country background check and fingerprinting, for which a marriage document was required every bit part of the documentation.

Seriously? I would not fifty-fifty know "who to tell" , who to annals with.
Hither in the U.South., the country of Georgia wanted proof specifically that I was married for a background check. They needed to see a spousal relationship license/certificate.
T hey were fine with the Bahamian matrimony license. I cannot think of whatever reason why an Arubian license would be different.

I'g non certain if this is what you are wondering, but at my local canton clerk, I am going to accept my marriage license "recorded". It doesn't validate the matrimony, but it records it in the county records besides equally puts it in the newspaper equally it does when they tape a spousal relationship certificate done in the local courthouse.
Information technology is also expert to take incase if something happens to the original and you need a certified copy.

I don't think I registered our wedlock either? I would think that if SS and DMV accept information technology recorded that would of been enough?? It took iv times going back to DMV to get my name inverse on my license, they were not accepting Aruba's papers. I finally got someone I knew and she pushed (and I mean pushed) it through. It was crazy, especially since I had my new SS card.
March two will be our 2 year anniversary..... :-D
